In 2001 I made the switch from being a schoolteacher, to become a freelance coach and trainer. After 16 years in primary education I gained invaluable knowledge as to how we learn and develop as human beings. My mission has been constant: ‘to enable people to empower themselves’.
I provide coaching for individuals through 'Coaching With Alma' and also as the Director of Mosaic Coaching and Development, . My services with 'Mosaic' include coaching and designing and delivering training courses for both the private and public sectors.
I specialise in Ontological Coaching (see My Approach) and I am also an NLP Master Practitioner and NLP Coach. I am one of a 150 coaches in the UK to be accredited by the ICF (International Coaching Federation) and hold the ACC credential.
I co-founded the ‘Do You Dare Partnership’ which specialises in life changing workshops for women, enabling them to pursue the professional and personal lives that they seek.
I am the UK Ambassador and Programme and Organisational coach for the Newfield Network a global organisation that provides personal transformation courses and coaching for executives, coaches and individuals.
One of my proudest achievements was co founding Mirus Coaching an organisation whose aim is to support social entrepreneurs and social activists. Mirus provides low cost, high quality coaching to those organisations and individuals involved in front line social action.
I am passionate about how people (regardless of age) learn, grow and transform themselves. I am deeply committed to helping people lead more effective personal and professional lives.
Things that particularly feed my soul are: learning, poetry, dancing, love and romance, being in water (especially outdoors), deep conversations with others, being with people who inspire me, enabling others to empower themselves, making a difference and all manner of sensate experiences.
I was a teenage bride and mother for the first time just after I turned 20. I have four amazing sons, all men now (youngest is 20) with just two of the four, still living at home with my husband and I.
